June 23, 2022
To All RNs and LPNs at Valley Senior Living,
On behalf of the Valley Senior Living Board of Directors and leadership team, we express our sincere appreciation for your dedication to the company as we value the skills you bring to the organization.
After a market evaluation of the competitive local nursing field, the Board of Directors has approved an across the board wage adjustment for nurses. These increases do not apply to other departments within the organization. The approved increases exceed local regular pay rates for nurses and make us competitive in regards to acute care differential pay.
Effective June 26, 2022, compensation rates will increase for all nurses. All nurses will receive a 6.2% increase across the board.
While the rest of the organization will receive an increase of the weekend differential to $1.00, differential pay will increase for nurses only as detailed below:
Weekend | PM Shift | Night Shift |
Current: $0.25 | Current: $0.50 | Current: $1.00 |
New Differential: $2.00 | New Differential: $1.50 | New Differential: $3.00 |
The areas in which we are experiencing the most direct competition for nurses crosses over into subacute, rehab, or post-acute care areas. Valley Transitions provides this level of complex care within Valley Senior Living. The RNs and LPNs who work in direct care roles in Valley Transitions will receive an additional 5% compensation due to the fast-paced environment caring for those post-acute residents.
I’m proud to say that our organization continues to treat everyone fairly in a prolonged time of workforce challenges. When the market changes, we respond and reward everyone. We are committed to giving all nurses this well-deserved pay increase!
You will receive communication in the mail about your current pay rate and adjusted pay rate in the next week. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your supervisor or the Human Resources department. Thank you for your commitment to the residents of Valley Senior Living!
Sincerely,
Garth Rydland
