OVERVIEW

The RN Charge of Personal Care Serivices at Tufte Manor works in the ongoing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care.  The RN Charge Nurse directs care partners and assists in carrying out the personal care service functions and follows regulations and policies for Basic Care residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Minimum one (1) year experience in geriatric nursing.
    • Must have a current license to practice in the state of North Dakota.
    • Obtain and keep records of CEU’s for RN licensure renewal as mandated by the State Board of Nursing.
    • Must be certified in CPR

FUNCTIONS

      • Knowledgeable with Assisted Living/Basic Care Policies and Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) manuals.
      • Knowledgeable in nursing practice.
      • Comply with all safety policies and procedures and will attend safety in-service as required.
      • Supervision of Personal Care Assistants by providing orientation, training, counseling and scheduling.
      • Processes PCS team (LPNs and PCAs) work schedule to post timely and weekly payroll.
      • Oversee the ongoing duties and responsibilities and PCS team (LPNs and PCAs) with assistance of the Director of Personal Care Services.
      • Monitor residents with services as well as those who are independent.
      • Provide skilled nursing care as needed.
      • Scheduling staff according to the service plan.
      • Obtain and implement physician orders.
      • Monitor and set up medications. Assist residents with reordering medications.
      • Review Personal Care Assistant documentation in Point of Care for accuracy with the service plan.
      • Consult with family or resident’s physician and other professionals necessary to best coordinate care.
      • Review and provide input to billing process monthly.
      • Plan and schedule PCA staff meetings and attends other meetings as required.
      • Assist with yearly skills validations.
      • Complete assessments for Basic Care residents. Updates the care plan and service plan schedules as needed in a timely manner.
